The pool was constructed in 2004. It is a
salt water system, this means it is very low chlorine and very pleasant
to swim in. The salt levels are about the same as tear water and the
salt makes you slightly more buoyant. The pool is 11 meters long and 5.5 meters wide. The deep end is 1.5 meters deep and the shallow end one meter deep, big enough and deep enough to have a real swim in. There are steps leading in to the shallow end. In most summers the challenge is keeping it cool rather than heated, although there is a heating system to extend the swimming season if necessary. Our pool man will come once a week in the summer months to check and clean the system. The pool is fenced with a code lock. This is a safety feature which is required by French law. It is a requirement that children are supervised at all times. The pool is open from June to September. |
